Last night, Loretta Knodel took us on an incredible Journey with George as she relived her trip to Mount Vernon! 🏛️✨

We enjoyed delicious snacks, learned so much fascinating history, and had a wonderful evening together at the Avon Public Library. 📚

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2026 Avon Public Library Summer Reading Program: “Happy 250th Birthday, America…Where America’s Story Meets Yours!”

We had so much fun at the Grand Finale today: enjoying crafts, face painting, awarding prizes to our top readers, eating hot dogs, beans & chips, and especially Grandma Jack’s AMAZING HAND DIPPED ICE CREAM!

Our prize winners for most books read were: (Age 0-7) Uriah Krcil (1st), Augustus Krcil (2nd) and Vonna Hubbell (3rd); (Age 8-11) Trent Uchytil (1st), Grace Uchytil (2nd), and Naomi Krcil (3rd); (Age 12-18) Haley Brandt (1st), Eden Walters (2nd), and Charlie Rezac (3rd); (Adult) Jan Fathke (1st), Bobbi Petrik (2nd), and Voni Hubbell (3rd).

Our prize winners for most ebooks/audiobooks read were: Audrey Voigt (1st place with 57 books!), Daryl Weber (2nd), and a three-way tie for 3rd with Julie Minow, Mary Lukkes, and Liz Rush.

Our prize winners for most minutes read in the Book Challenge were: Gideon DenHerder (1st with 5,998 minutes!), Beckett Schultz (2nd), and a tie for 3rd with Braxton Schultz and Brynn DeJong.

If you were not present to receive your prize, you can pick it up at the library. Thanks for being such good readers!!!
