From Axtell EMT/FF Emma Kristine:

The heroes wall is a way to thank and honor all the different heros. Military, police, EMT'S, firefighters, cancer or anything similar (autoimmune ect.) Dementia, PTSD, su***de to name a few. We would be honored to place anyone's name past or present on to wall for all to see and honor them.

They would like to give a huge shout out to the Axtell fire and rescue team for making a dream come true by donating some fire gear that was used to make a mannequin come to life for a float that will be at several parades

Located at 12326 H road Stromsburg NE. Contact the heroes wall directly or Dave Rollins @ 402-366-3599 for any further questions.

UPDATE ON THE SOUTH FORK FIRE From Joseph Fickenscher & Tyrell Fickenscher:

Axtell 22 and crew linked up with the Republican Valley Task Force this morning at 02:00, and we met at the Crawford fire station for briefing at 06:00.

As of this morning, the South Fork Fire had consumed 23,112 acres and is considered 5% contained. command for this fire was also transferred to federal jurisdiction this morning (Rocky Mountain Incident Command System 2).

It’s been a busy morning, and the wind’s beginning to pick up, but we’re working with some great folks and will be coving a lot of ground today.

Ty & Joe Fickenscher are on their way to help out, we'll have more updates later.....

At the direction of incident command, a preliminary evacuation notice is being issued for residents in the city of Crawford. This is a preliminary warning. You are not under mandatory evacuation order at this time. Conditions are changing rapidly due to extreme fire weather. Prepare you family, pets, and go kits now so you can leave at a moments notice if conditions change.
