Today was a special day on the shores of Crooked Lake for DRF BPE. Dr. Dale R. Fair’s son, Jeff Fair and grandson, Jeffrey Fair of Ecoscape Designs visited campus. They planted a 15 gallon Mango Tree in honor of our former highly loved and successful principal Dale Fair.

After learning all about apples, 1st Grade Gnats are now diving into the world of pumpkins! Students are exploring the pumpkin life cycle, identifying its different parts, and learning many new pumpkin facts. Today, they even began germinating pumpkin seeds, and can’t wait to watch them sprout and see what happens next! 🌱 Through hands-on investigations, they also discovered that both apples and pumpkins float! 🍎 Next, they will be comparing and contrasting apples and pumpkins as first graders continue building their observation, questioning, and critical-thinking skills. They are learning so much and having fun exploring the wonders of fall! 🍂

Why write rhythms on a paper when you can write them on the floor with glow sticks? Reviewing rhythms can be boring at times so adding some glowsticks at Halloween only adds to the fun. 2nd and 3rd grade Gnats had a blast!

Our fifth graders worked hard to meet their first quarter AR goal, and we love to celebrate their reading achievements! Their reward for this quarter was a fun filled sleepover…at school!

We kicked things off right after school with wiffleball and a campus photo scavenger hunt, and then continued the evening with all kinds of fun including fishing at the lake, cooking hotdogs and s’mores over the fire, watching an outdoor movie, and making the best memories. We are so proud of their hard work! ❤️

Our 5th grade Gnats had a magical Harry Potter themed day! 🪄
Students were sorted into the four houses and rotated through classrooms, using teamwork to complete fun ELA, Math, and Science challenges as they competed for the House Champion title!
