🚨🇺🇸 HAPPY NATIONAL FIRST RESPONDERS DAY! 🇺🇸🚨

Today, October 28, we recognize and honor the brave men and women who answer the call when others need help the most.

From the firefighters who run toward danger, to the law enforcement officers who protect our communities, the EMS professionals who provide lifesaving care, and the dispatchers who are the calm voice in a crisis — THANK YOU!

Your courage, sacrifice, dedication, and commitment to serving others make a difference every single day. You often miss family dinners, holidays, and precious moments at home so that others can be safe. That commitment does not go unnoticed.

❤️ From all of us at the Bagley Fire Department, thank you to every first responder who serves our community and communities across this great nation.

We are proud to stand alongside those who answer the call, and we are grateful for the families who support them along the way.

đźš’ One community. One mission. Always ready to answer the call.

Please join us in thanking our first responders today!

🚒 🔥 Good Day, Bagley! 🔥 🚒

We are halfway through Fire Prevention Month, and today we have a simple but important question for everyone:

When was the last time you changed the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors?

Smoke and CO detectors are among the most important safety devices in your home, but they can only protect you if they're working properly. Regular battery changes and monthly testing help ensure these lifesaving devices are ready when you need them most.

âś… Test your detectors today.
âś… Replace batteries if needed.
âś… Make sure every level of your home is protected.

Just a few minutes of prevention can make a life-saving difference for you and your family.

Stay safe, Bagley!

🚒🔥 OCTOBER IS FIRE PREVENTION MONTH! 🔥🚒

A fire can change everything in just a few minutes. Are YOU and your family prepared?

This October, the Bagley MN Fire Department wants to remind everyone that fire prevention starts at home. Taking a few minutes today to prepare could make all the difference when seconds count.

🏠 PROTECT YOUR HOME & FAMILY:

🚨 CHECK YOUR SMOKE ALARMS
• Have working smoke alarms inside every bedroom, outside sleeping areas, and on every level of your home.
• Test them regularly.
• Replace alarms when they reach 10 years old.
• Never disable a smoke alarm because of nuisance alarms.

🔥 HAVE A HOME FIRE ESCAPE PLAN
• Know TWO ways out of every room, whenever possible.
• Make sure doors and windows can be opened easily.
• Choose a safe meeting place outside your home.
• Make sure EVERYONE in the household knows the plan.
• Practice your escape plan—don't wait until an emergency to figure it out.

🚪 CLOSE THE DOOR!
If a fire starts, close doors behind you as you escape. A closed door can help slow the spread of fire and smoke. If you can't get out, close the door, call 911, and signal for help.

🍳 PAY ATTENTION IN THE KITCHEN
Cooking is a leading source of home fires. Never leave cooking unattended, keep anything that can burn away from the stovetop, and keep children away from hot appliances.

🔥 HEATING SAFETY
As the temperatures drop here in Minnesota, make sure heating equipment is ready for the season. Keep anything that can burn at least 3 feet away from heat sources, and have heating equipment inspected and maintained as recommended.

🔌 ELECTRICAL & BATTERY SAFETY
Don't overload outlets or power strips. Inspect cords for damage and use chargers and batteries according to the manufacturer's instructions.

🕯️ CANDLES & OPEN FLAMES
Never leave candles or other open flames unattended. Keep them away from anything that can burn—and away from children and pets.

🧯 KNOW YOUR EXTINGUISHER
Have the right type of fire extinguisher available and make sure adults in your household know where it is and how to use it. If a fire is growing or you aren't comfortable fighting it, get out!

🚨 IF A FIRE HAPPENS: GET OUT & STAY OUT!
Don't stop to grab belongings. Don't go back inside for pets, phones, wallets, or anything else.

Once you're safely outside, call 911. Give the dispatcher your address and tell them what is happening. Make sure your house number is clearly visible from the road so emergency responders can find you quickly.

⏱️ REMEMBER: FIRE IS FAST.
You may have less than two minutes to escape once a smoke alarm sounds. Every second matters.

❤️ Fire prevention isn't just about protecting your house. It's about protecting the people inside it.

Take a few minutes this October to:
âś… Test your smoke alarms
âś… Check your fire extinguishers
âś… Create or review your escape plan
âś… Pick an outside meeting place
âś… Practice your fire drill
âś… Talk to your kids about what to do
âś… Make sure everyone knows how to call 911

From all of us at the Bagley MN Fire Department: Please take fire prevention seriously, stay safe, and look out for your family, your neighbors, and our community.

đźš’ BE PREPARED. IT CAN SAVE LIVES.

September 11, 2001 — Never Forget. 🇺🇸

Remember where you were.
Remember the noise.
Remember the news.
Remember the fear, the heartbreak, and the overwhelming sense that our world had changed forever.

Today, 25 years later, we pause to remember and honor the lives that were lost and the countless lives forever changed by that tragic day.

We especially remember the 343 New York City firefighters who took their final breaths while courageously climbing toward danger, trying to save people in need. They answered the call without hesitation, knowing only that someone needed help.

Their sacrifice reminds us of what courage, service, and brotherhood truly mean.

From all of us at Bagley Fire, we ask our community and our country to take a moment today to reflect, remember, and pray for peace and comfort for all those who continue to carry the pain of September 11th.

25 years later, their sacrifice still matters.
Their names still matter.
Their stories still matter.

🇺🇸 Never Forget.
🚒 343 — Always Remembered.

Today, May 4th, is known as International Fire Fighters' Day. This is in recognition of all current and past fire fighters that keep or kept our communities safe. The world's fire fighters dedicate their lives to the protection of life and property. Sometimes that dedication is in the form of countless hours volunteered over many years, in others it is many selfless years working on the scenes in a high stress environment. In all cases it risks the ultimate sacrifice of a fire fighter’s life.

International Firefighters’ Day is a time where the world’s community can recognize and honor the sacrifices that fire fighters make to ensure that their communities and environment are as safe as possible. It is also a day in which current and past firefighters can be thanked for their contributions.

All of us at Bagley Fire, we extend a special thank you to the surrounding departments for your continued help, support and efforts. Shout out to all the fire fighters locally, state, nationally and internationally for your bravery and courage. Stay safe!

This past Monday, April 20th, the Bagley MN Volunteer Fire Department had the honor of escorting the National American Legion Commander from the outskirts of town to the Bagley American Legion Post 16. He was in town for a breakfast and to address concerns and questions from Post members and the community related to Veterans. It was our pleasure to participate in the event. We appreciate Post 16 for involving us.

🔥🔥Red flag warning issued for Clearwater and surrounding counties for today, April 20. Dry condition and winds create an extreme risk for fires. Please be alert and extra cautious during this time.

🔥🔥Burning restrictions also went into place today with campfires allowed.

Please be extra careful today and everyday with open fires. If needed call emergency services at 911 and Clearwater County dispatch will dispatch the appropriate needs from Bagley Fire, local DNR Forestry or other appropriate area services. The area has alot of blow down from last summer's storm. Please be extra careful. Once things start to green up, restrictions should come off. Pay attention to the Minnesota DNR website for all fire danger and burning restrictions information.
