More than 250 residents have signed up for a free assessment through the Solarize Bainbridge Island program since it launched in March! Earlier this year we partnered with nonprofit Olympia Community Solar to launch Solarize Bainbridge Island, a limited-time solar education group purchasing program designed to make installing solar energy systems simple, accessible, and secure.

Running through July 31, the program helps residents and business owners transition to clean, renewable energy, and reduce energy bills by generating their own electricity and participating in net metering, which provides utility bill credits for surplus energy sent back to the grid.

Learn more by attending the program’s FINAL workshop on Monday, June 8 at 6 p.m. at City Hall.

The Planning Commission has extended the public hearing on the Draft Comprehensive Plan, Draft Winslow Subarea Plan, and related draft code updates to an additional meeting on May 21 at 6 p.m. at City Hall to provide the public with extra time to review the draft documents and provide comment.
