💜💛 FALL PHOTO DUMP ALERT! 📸

If you think fall is all pumpkin spice and cooler weather… you clearly don't work in a school system! 😂

We've been a little busy over here at Decatur County Schools, and let's just say our camera rolls are FULL and our social media posts are playing catch-up!

From Friday night football and community events to Board meetings, Homecoming festivities, Volleyball Senior Night, middle school playoffs AND CHAMPIONSHIPS… the Bearcats have been EVERYWHERE!

Throw in some glow parties celebrating great behavior, Touch-a-Truck fun for our little Bearcats, and our friends at First National Bank firing up the grill with us, and you've got yourself one BUSY fall season!

So, consider this your official "We've Been Busy Being Bearcats" photo dump!

Some of these moments go back to BEFORE Fall Break (don't judge us 😂), but they're too good not to share!

Because around here, there's ALWAYS something worth celebrating! 💜💛

The Purple Alliance 💜

We’re not choosing a side. We’re choosing purple. 💜

In FIRST, teams play on the Red Alliance or the Blue Alliance. Mix them together and you get purple, the color that shows the best of both worlds. At GRITS, our [cy]BEARCATS teamed up with our friends from Team 10376 Plutonium Panthers and Team 9480 The Gear Bears to make something special together.

Purple is what happens when teams stop competing long enough to cheer, share, and learn from each other. It’s Gracious Professionalism in a single color.

Thank you to the Plutonium Panthers and the Gear Bears for making GRITS 2026 a great one!

Live Purple. Love Gold. 💜💛

At Bainbridge High School, we say it every day: Live Purple and Love Gold. At GRITS, we get to show it. Purple and Gold, one team and one school, with all our heart under the [cy]BEARCATS banner.

We also want to say thank you to the FIRST community. To the mentors who gave us their time, the teams who lent us tools and shared what they know, the alliance partners who stood beside us, the sponsors who believed in us, and the volunteers and families who keep this going. You have helped us start something bigger than we could ever have dreamed in our small town.

Every team here has someone who showed them the way, and we’re proud to be paying that forward. Thank you for welcoming us, lifting us up, and making us part of the family.

Thank you also to everyone cheering for us from home. Go [cy]BEARCATS!

Work. Time. Grit. Meet the Next Generation. 💜

Our team motto says everything worth doing takes WORK, takes TIME, and takes GRIT. This weekend at GRITS, we see that motto come to life with brand new [cy]BEARCATS taking the field for the very first time.

Before the match lights came on, these students spent hours at STEM Camp, in skills training, and in classes learning to build, code, and drive. Now we field two teams made up of students who are new to FIRST. Every one of them is a first-timer, and every one of them showed up ready to learn.

We’re here to share the FUN of robotics and to inspire the next drivers, coders, and builders for years to come. Today’s first-timers are tomorrow’s leaders, and we can’t wait to see where they go.

Welcome to the [cy]BEARCAT family!

Where Our Story Began

One year ago, we spent a day at GRITS shadowing pit crews, with no robot and no team number yet. Today we're competing alongside 43 other teams, and many of them lent us a hand, a tool, or a kind word.

Thank you, GRITS teams, for welcoming us then and now. For teaching us what it means to have GRIT and for continuing to show up for one another in the PITS, in the STANDS, and on the FIELD.

Looking forward to many more GRITS to come!

Never Backing Down!Meet Dora from [cy]BEARCATS #11214.Dora says, "To me, GRIT stands for never backing down and overcoming challenges."Rookie teams get used to being the underdog. Dora's words are what turned our first season into a Rookie All Star at three levels. Challenges don't end the story. They're how we write it. Now we are digging in at GRITS 2026 to start the next chapter and Dora is leading the way. #[cy]BEARCATS
