Memorial Hospital and Manor is working toward strengthening pediatric care in rural areas as part of the Kids Alliance for Better Care (KidsABC) with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Mercer University School of Medicine and its Georgia Rural Health Innovation Center. It’s , so join us as we honor the bravery and resilience of kids facing health challenges.

Congratulations to Amanda Rodriguez, our DAISY Award Winner!
Please take a moment to read what a nursing student had to say about her!
"I am a third semester nursing student with ABAC. I attended clinical in the OR on July 14, 2026. I was paired with Amanda who was phenomenal. She made sure to teach me, she explained everything, allowed me to ask questions, made sure I was able to see, etc. She made sure to keep me included and available to learn, even when she had her hands full with tasks. She also stood out to me for going above and beyond for her peers. She was so helpful to the OR staff in the room.
She was by far the best nurse I've been paired with in my schooling experience thus far. The entire OR staff was so nice, but she really went above and beyond. I learned so much from her not only about the OR setting, but about who I should strive to be as a nurse.
She never once made me feel intimidated or like I was a bother to her. She is the kind of nurse that I want to be."

Congrats to our SUNSHINE Award Winner, Pam Goodwin!
Take a minute to read what one of her teammates had to say about her!
"I would like to nominate Pam Goodwin for the Sunshine Award. Pam has been a member of the Manor team for 20 years! She is a mirror image of what teamwork really is! I have observed her jump in and take charge to help nursing before being asked to do so! She puts the Manor first before anything else and stays over whenever she sees the need before being asked to do so. She is the first person you see at the nurse's station early in the morning. Always on time and present. She assists Manor two each day to make sure they are covered while we don't have a ward clerk in that area. When she is asked to do a task, I never have to follow up to make sure it is done. You tell her once and can know that it will be done without checking again. I have been very impressed with her work ethic! She also looks for ways to help us save money with transportation being an example. She gets excited when she can come to report that she saved the Manor money. She deserves this award!"
