2026 Veterans Stand Down.

We brought together more than 110 dedicated community partners for a one-day expo focused on serving our veterans. Veterans were able to access mobile clinics, VA services, Social Security assistance, and much more, all in one convenient location.

We’re proud to serve those who served us.

Veterans Stand Down 2026! 🇺🇸
A big thank-you to our partners throughout Kern County, our city officials, our talent, and all of our vendors who helped make this event a success! Most importantly, thank you to the veterans who have served our country. It is our honor to serve those who have served us!

NEW THIS YEAR: EMPLOYMENT ROW!
For the first time, we introduced an Employment Row featuring local partners looking to hire veterans! We’re proud to help connect our veterans with employment opportunities and support them as they take the next steps in their careers.

🎖️ Are you a veteran looking for work? We encourage you to reach out to our participating local employment partners to learn more about available opportunities!

At CAPK Veterans & Supportive Services, our commitment to supporting those who served continues beyond this event.

As we look back on our 2026 Annual Veterans Stand Down, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to all the veterans who joined us and to the 110+ local vendors who came together to make this event such a success!

With 572 veteran participants, this event was a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when our community comes together to support those who have served our country.

A big thank you to AltaOne Credit Union for participating in CAPK’s Huggy Heart Campaign this summer! 💙

Their generous donation helped support back-to-school efforts through our Youth & Community Services programs and will continue making an impact for local youth year-round.

We’re grateful for partners like AltaOne who continue to invest in our youth and community! 🎒📚

THE FINAL DONATION IS IN - $10,018.13!

Together, we sold 1,294 Smashing Pumpkin Lattes for Hunger Action Month!

A HUGE thank you to our incredible partner CAPKern and to the Bakersfield community for showing up and showing out all month long. Every latte helped make this campaign what it was, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

Cheers to smashing hunger, building community, and drinking more Reverb!

Feed the Need was a huge success! 🧡

Thanks to our incredible community, we collected a total of 23,313 pounds of food for neighbors in need across Kern County.

Each year, the Feed the Need Food Drive at the Kern County Fair brings neighbors together for a great cause. Guests brought six canned food items per person in exchange for free admission to the fair for the evening, and their generosity truly showed. Every can donated will help provide nutritious meals to families who need them most.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, to our amazing volunteers who gave their time to collect and sort each donation, and to the Kern County Fair for being such a wonderful partner. We are so grateful to be part of a community that shows up for one another.

Together, we're fighting hunger one can at a time. 🥫

📦❤️ Community Box Building Day!

Hunger Action Month is about raising awareness and taking action. Our amazing volunteers came together to build food boxes for neighbors in need, showing the power of community support.

We’re especially grateful to see families volunteering together, having fun, making a difference, and teaching the next generation the importance of helping others. 🫶

Together, we can make an impact—one box at a time!

Grab it before it's gone! 🎃

The Smashing Pumpkin Latte is almost out of time at Reverb Coffee, and 100% of the proceeds go directly to us at CAPK to fight hunger right here in our community.

Sip something seasonal. Make an impact. It's a pumpkin latte with notes of brown butter and fall spices, and every cup helps SMASH HUNGER during Hunger Action Month.

Get yours before September ends. Drink a latte. Smash hunger. Spread the word.
