Exceptional Family Center Exceptional Family Center is committed to helping families of children w/developmental disabilities

Exceptional Family Center was founded in 2007 by a group of parents and professionals, who recognized the need for a center that would be culturally sensitive to the unique needs of our diverse community. Our center was created to provide families, who have children with a developmental disability, with the tools and resources necessary to help their children succeed. What began as an annual conference soon turned into a center, that today, assists over 300 families.

ARE YOU READY FOR OUR ANNUAL NATIONAL NIGHT OUT & TRICK OR TREATING COMMUNITY EVENT?

Every year each of our specialized units look forward to hosting this huge event to serve our community. It provides a safe environment to take the family trick or treating while also allowing us the opportunity and the space to showcase all of our specialized units.

From Dispatch to CSI, Park Rangers to Civil Enforcement, Bomb Squad and Rural Crimes, SWAT, K-9 and so much more! We partner with local organizations to bring you a night filled with resources, information, games and CANDY!!! Take pictures with the Air Support Unit and buy some snacks to support the Sheriff's Activities League. We can't wait for our community to join us!

Big ideas, meaningful connections, and a little San Francisco inspiration ✨

On October 19, Exceptional Family Center Co-Founder and Executive Director Virginia Gantong attended the Early Start Symposium alongside EFC Early Start staff representing Kern, Inyo, and Mono counties.

The symposium brought together professionals and partners from across the Early Start community, including regional centers, educators, early interventionists, family resource centers, pediatric providers, psychologists, and the California Department of Developmental Services (DDS). Our team left inspired by what we learned and the connections we made, and looks forward to putting that knowledge into practice to support families even further! 💙
