🚒 It’s Fire Prevention Week 🚒
This week is all about fire prevention, education, and keeping our communities safe!
Today and tomorrow we get the opportunity to spend some time with the kiddos at school, teaching them about fire safety! One of the best parts of being a firefighter is getting to interact with the little ones and helping them learn things that could one day save their lives. ❤️
🔥 Here are a few important fire safety reminders we shared today!
🚨 Smoke detectors save lives! Make sure your family has working smoke alarms and knows what they sound like.
🚒 Stop, Drop, and Roll! If your clothes ever catch on fire, STOP where you are, DROP to the ground, and ROLL until the flames are out.
🏠 Have an escape plan! Know two ways out of every room when possible and have a safe meeting place outside.
🚪 Get Out and Stay Out! Never go back inside a burning building for toys, pets, or belongings.
🔥 Never play with matches or lighters! If you find them, leave them alone and tell an adult.
👨🚒 Don’t hide from firefighters! We may look and sound a little scary in all our gear, but we’re there to help you!
❤️ Know your address! It’s important for kiddos to know where they live in case they ever need to call 911.
We hope these are lessons the kiddos take home and share with their families!
We’re so thankful for the opportunity to serve our community, not just when the alarms go off, but through education and prevention too.
From all of us at Ballard Fire & Rescue, stay safe and have a wonderful Fire Prevention Week! 🚒❤️
