County historian Lauren Roberts joined author Nancy Siegel for a discussion about the influence of food during the American Revolution at the Saratoga Book Festival held at Universal Preservation Hall this past weekend. The audience was treated to Liberty Tea and Washington Cake made from Nancy’s extensive historic recipe database.

As we commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11th, 2001, we wanted to share some items in our collection related to the event. A variety of newspapers from September 12 & 13 document the tragedies and their immediate aftermath. The Greenfield Seniors completed a bound booklet of reflections related to 9/11 and donated it to the Historian’s office. Some compare their experiences with hearing about Pearl Harbor, or even, in one case, experiencing the Blitz bombing raids in England during WWII.

Please join us in taking a moment to honor those whose lives were lost on that Tuesday morning 25 years ago.
