Tonight, Eagle Matt Lee Co. No. 1 had the pleasure of hosting Pack2bspa for an exciting and educational evening.

After a tour of our firehouse and trucks, guests got hands-on experience with the lifesaving "Jaws of Life" — and practiced using using a “fire extinguisher” a Digital Fire Extinguisher Training System.

A huge thank you to our friends at Clifton Park Volunteer Fire Department for joining us and bringing the Digital Fire Extinguisher Training System to make the night even more interactive and fun.

This week, our members enjoyed visiting our elementary schools to share important fire and life safety lessons with our community’s youngest learners!

One of the most rewarding parts of what we do is educating our future generation, answering their questions, and hopefully inspiring a few future firefighters along the way! 👨‍🚒👩‍🚒

On Saturday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Brock for a tour of our firehouse and a look at our apparatus. Brock is the founder of Hathaways Helping Hand, a Columbia County-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting first responders.

Earlier in the day, members staffing Rescue 13-4 were proud to participate in the Ballston Spa Sunshine Kids’ Annual Lemonade Stand Fundraiser at Ribbon Cafe, supporting a great cause in our community.

Whether we’re responding to emergencies, supporting local events, or opening our doors to visitors, we’re always glad to connect with our community. If you see us at the firehouse, don’t hesitate to stop by and say hello! 🚒

With profound sadness, the members of Eagle-Matt Lee Fire Company announce the passing of our brother and past Captain, Shaun W. Halfacre, 38, who passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Shaun’s dedication to the fire service, commitment to our community, and friendship to all who knew him will never be forgotten.

Out of respect for the Halfacre family during this difficult time, we kindly ask that their privacy be honored. Please keep Shaun’s family, friends, and fellow firefighters in your thoughts and prayers as we mourn this tremendous loss.

Rest easy, brother. We have it from here.

The egg survived the fall! 🥚🚒

This was just one of many egg drops held last week at Malta Avenue Elementary and Gordon Creek Elementary.

Eagle Matt Lee Fire Company No. 1 was proud to help out, using Engine Ladder 13‑2 to give students the perfect high‑altitude drop point for their creations.

Amazing job to all the young engineers who put their designs to the test

Egg Drop Day was a soaring success at both Malta Avenue Elementary and Gordon Creek Elementary!

Eagle Matt Lee Fire Company No. 1 was proud to join the fun again this year, bringing Engine Ladder 13‑2 to each school so students could put their creative egg‑saving designs to the test.

From parachutes to padded boxes, these young engineers showed off some incredible ideas — and plenty of eggs survived the big drop!

A huge thank‑you to the teachers, staff, and students for the excitement and smiles.

We’re always grateful for the chance to support our schools and community.

Last night, members of Eagle-Matt Lee gathered at The Factory Eatery for our Annual Installation Banquet. This special evening provides an opportunity to swear in our Firematic and Corporate Officers for the upcoming fiscal year, recognize and thank the families and significant others who support our members throughout the year, and enjoy a night of camaraderie and fellowship over a great meal.

During the evening, two annual awards were presented in recognition of outstanding service and dedication to the company.

The Captain’s Award, selected by Captain Basta, was presented to Firefighter Justin Brown.

The President’s Award, selected by President Zlotnick, was presented to Captain Kyle Basta.

Congratulations to both award recipients, and thank you to all of our members, families, and supporters for everything you do to make Eagle-Matt Lee a strong and successful organization. We look forward to another year of service to our community! 🦅🚒

🇺🇸 Despite the heat and humidity, it was a beautiful evening for one of Burnt Hills’ favorite traditions!

Eagle Matt-Lee was proud to once again fly the American flag over the 25th Annual Burnt Hills Flag Day Parade, celebrating our nation’s colors and the community spirit.

In the photo below, you can see our brothers and sisters from Union Fire Company #2 marching in the parade with their band, along with many other neighboring fire departments.

We’re always honored to be part of this hometown tradition! 🚒
