Baltimore, get ready to hit the ground running! šŸƒšŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļø

The Baltimore Running Festival is happening this Saturday, October 17, bringing runners, families, and supporters together for one of our city's biggest running events!

From the marathon and half marathon to the 10K and 5K, there's something for runners of all levels. It's a great opportunity to get moving, support one another, and experience Baltimore's neighborhoods in a different way.

I'll be cheering on everyone taking part! Remember to plan ahead for road closures and traffic changes along the race routes.

Baltimore needs more housing options, but we have to get the policy right.

The ADU bill is back in committee, and I'm advocating for stronger safeguards, including owner-occupancy, conditional use approval by the Board, and compliance with bulk and yard requirements.

I support expanding housing opportunities while protecting our neighborhoods. Here's where I stand.

Last week, the Land Use Committee heard serious concerns about the proposed data center bill.

I withdrew my sponsorship because the bill doesn't go far enough to protect Baltimore residents.

We shouldn't approve data centers now and figure out the protections later.

Today, I attended the Middle Branch Resiliency Initiative Celebration of Progress!

It was great to see the work underway to strengthen Baltimore’s waterfront, restore natural habitats, and create healthier, more resilient communities.

Investing in our environment means investing in the people and neighborhoods that call Baltimore home. I'm encouraged by the progress being made and look forward to seeing this important work continue.

The court has again declined to pause the order requiring the City to restore the Inspector General’s access to City systems and respond to outstanding subpoenas.

Independent oversight should not depend on a court battle. That’s why we’re continuing our work to strengthen and protect the Inspector General’s access to City records.

We’re now drafting the petition materials for the ballot measure. **In the meantime, register to sign the petition.** Remember, registration is not the petition itself. Once the petition packet is ready, we’ll contact you with information on how to sign in person.

Flu and cold season is here! Visit your local pharmacy, get your flu vaccine, and take care of yourself. Going to take my own advice and rest!

What if Baltimore had more choice in where we get our energy?

Community Choice Aggregation, or CCA, allows local governments to bring customers together and purchase electricity as a group, creating more local say over energy costs and sources. BGE would still deliver the electricity, maintain the infrastructure, and respond to outages.

Montgomery County is exploring this model through a state-authorized pilot. Should Baltimore have more options when it comes to how we purchase our energy?

It’s a conversation worth having.

Stay connected! I’ll keep you posted.
