Officially Sworn In, Pinned, and Ready to Lead!

Today was a BIG day at James McHenry as we officially inducted our Student Government Association.

Our student leaders were sworn in, proudly received their pins, and signed a pledge promising to represent their fellow students with honesty, respect, and responsibility.

And the leadership lessons started before today’s ceremony! Earlier this week, our SGA visited Baltimore City Hall, where they got a firsthand look at how our city government operates and had the opportunity to meet with Councilwoman Porter!

A HUGE congratulations to our entire SGA crew! We are so proud of you and cannot wait to see the ideas you bring, the voices you amplify, and the difference you make this year! Watch out, Baltimore! We’ve got some future leaders in the making!

Have you ever kept a secret from 150 middle schoolers? We have!

Thanks to our incredible partners at GDH Law Firm and The United Way, we surprised our students with 150 FREE winter coats! And the biggest surprise? Chandler Rivers, Ja’Kobi Lane, Nate Wiggins, and Trenton Simpson were there to help hand them out!

Thank you to GDH Law Firm, The United Way, and these four Ravens players for showing our kids so much love and giving them a day they’ll never forget. Warm coats, huge smiles, and a whole lot of purple pride. We were one lucky school today!

Pumpkin patch weather? Not quite. Pumpkin patch fun? ABSOLUTELY!

Our PK–2 Eagles had a BLAST at Summers Farm today! We dove into the corn, flew down the slide, climbed, jumped, and said hello to the animals. Nobody left empty-handed either. A pumpkin for every Eagle! Such a great day!

There’s never a dull moment at James McHenry!

Cheerleading has officially kicked off, and our Eagles are bringing the spirit!

SGA election season is in full swing! Campaigns, voting, and future leaders learning that their voices matter!

Our JM Middle School Buddies program has officially started! Building friendships, making connections, and showing that being an Eagle means looking out for one another!

Our young scientists are exploring, experimenting, and asking BIG questions in science class and Curiosity Club!

And who needs a time machine when you have imagination? Our scholars are bringing Magic Tree House to life by building castles and creating shadow puppets!

From school spirit to student leadership, new friendships to scientific discoveries and creative adventures, just another week of learning, leading, and having fun at JM!

Today was THE day, and we threw ourselves a carnival, baby!

Our students with amazing attendance in August and September got to celebrate their amazing attendance at our Attendance Carnival! The pictures speak for themselves, but we’re still not sure who had more fun: the students or the staff! But with our staff, that’s always the case!

A special thank-you to our incredible staff and parent volunteers who refused to take a break and kept the fun going all day. We appreciate your time, energy, and love for our students! ❤️

Two trips, one ocean of discovery!

Our PK explorers visited the National Aquarium last week, and today it was 3rd grade’s turn to dive into learning! From our littlest Eagles to our big kids, there’s nothing like taking learning beyond the classroom and seeing the wonders of the underwater world up close!

Meet the Eagles taking over the field this fall! Our girls and boys flag football teams have plenty of personality to go with their game. Take a look at the faces behind the flags and help us cheer them on!

Violence has no place in our city, especially at our children’s sporting events. Every child deserves to play, compete, and be cheered on in safety. Our hearts are with everyone affected by the violence at Leon Day Park, and we are keeping the children, families, and community in our thoughts.

Three lucky classes celebrated Chuseok today! They learned words in Korean, tried foods from Korea, and explored the traditions behind the holiday with Ms. Brown one of our parents.

Our middle school Math Counts club is up and running, and Jenson, aka Principal Turner, won the PBIS raffle to be Principal for the Day! He joined the admin morning huddle to start his shift.

We also celebrated our Improved Attendance Stars! These Eagles have been showing up more consistently this year, and we’re proud to recognize their progress. Keep it going!

Urban Air on a Friday to celebrate amazing readers? Absolutely!

Our first through third-grade scholars who scored at or above grade level in MCLASS earned a day filled with jumping, climbing and celebrating!

Congratulations to every scholar who attended. Your hard work and dedication to reading paid off, and we are so proud of you! Keep reading, keep growing and keep soaring, Eagles!
