The folks from Coppermine reached out to notify all parents using Dypski Park that this tree (right behind the swing-set) is about to drop this very large branch. The city has been alerted and they are awaiting a crew to trim the tree. Until that time, exercise extreme caution (especially in windy weather).

We're happy to share that the historic Canton Market pavilion, once at home in Dypski Park, has found a new home at Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park! Baltimore Recnparks has completed the installation and added lighting, picnic tables, and grills for everyone to enjoy.

It's wonderful to see this piece of Baltimore history preserved and given new life in another Baltimore City park.

Permanent Electric Service Coming to Dypski Park in 2027

Baltimore City Recreation and Parks has initiated the process to attain an engineering design proposal to install permanent electrical service at Dypski Park. This improvement will allow for a functioning water feature and provide outlets that can be used for community events.

Because the installation process is expected to take at least one year, the water feature will not be operational during the 2026 season.

The decorative fountain and electrical outlets are currently connected to a BGE temporary electric service, but this contractual service expired in 2024.

We know the community is excited to have permanent electrical service in 2027, and it will be a great addition once it’s up and running again.

CAUTION - Slide needs repair!
Thank you to the neighbor who discovered and reported this issue. We have also sent a direct email to our contact at Rec N Parks. (They are closed today, 4/3/26, but we are optimistic they will address this next week.) We'll circle back with any update.

03/31/2026

The "cube" has been removed for repair. The part has been ordered, but we do not have an install date yet.

Please use caution in this area.

UPDATE: FOUND!
Thank you to our neighbors and Coppermine for rescuing the broken cocoon. Baltimore Recnparks is picking it up today, then will work to fix and reinstall it soon.

The "cozy cocoon" play feature went missing from Dypski Park last week. (Mid-March 2026) Baltimore Recnparks is looking for any information about its disappearance. If you have any info, please email Sarah (BCRP) at [email protected] or reply in the thread. Thanks!
