Martha's Place Martha’s Place is a long-term phase recovery program for women overcoming drug addiction and homelessness.

Long-term SRO (Single Room Occupancy) housing: Women that complete a six-month transitional program are eligible to apply for residency at one the Martha's Place long-term SRO homes. Each of the four SRO homes offer individual bedrooms and shared living rooms, dining rooms, bathrooms, laundry facilities, and outdoor gardens. The SRO homes are unstaffed recovery homes where residents can apply the skills learned from the six-month transitional program in an independent environment. Supportive services such as addictions co

Thirty years ago, Intersection of Change founders Elder Harris, Amelia Harris, and Todd Marcus began the process of renovating our first Martha’s Place house at 1928 Pennsylvania Avenue. Today, that first house is joined by three more to provide long-term recovery housing to up to 18 women. Through vision, hard work, and partnership, Martha’s Place has provided a home to more than 500 women, and it all began with the renovation of this house.

This week, MD Public Service Scholars intern Andre Vincent hosted a Wellness Wednesday session making vision boards. Our ladies got the chance to create collages reflecting what they want to their lives to look like in a few years, helping them plan for the future and imagine all the amazing possibilities of sober life! 🌈☁️🔮🌸

The brothers of Beta Alpha Lambda joined us for a special Wellness Wednesday. They treated our residents to a delicious catered lunch featuring curry chicken, cabbage, and rice & peas, creating a vibrant space for connection and community. Beyond the shared meal, the brothers extended their kindness through a generous donation of personal hygiene supplies, providing essential support to the women of Martha’s Place. Their visit was a meaningful reminder of the power of service and partnership in uplifting our community.
