Last week, community members, organizational partners, and UMB leaders gathered over dinner for an honest conversation.
Joined by UMB President Bruce Jarrell, MD, FACS, we discussed the current fiscal environment, its impact on our institution and neighborhoods, and what it will take to sustain the programs, services, and partnerships that matter most to us as a community.
But most importantly, we listened. We heard thoughtful questions, candid feedback, lived experiences, and perspectives on the priorities that matter most to our neighbors. Those conversations reinforced an important truth: while challenges may change, our commitment to one another remains constant.
At UMB, community engagement is a collective process. It's collaborating together to identify and address the goals and needs of all community stakeholders. It's listening to our neighbors, learning from lived experiences, and following through on the commitments we've made together.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to the discussion. Your voices help shape how we move forward and we are deeply grateful of your time and effort.
More to come!
