SPARC has been operating in Pigtown since 2017. We are a harm reduction focused drop by center and outreach program for non-men. No ID or insurance is required.

We are open for drop-by supply hours Monday-Thursday 11am-2pm and until 4pm for appointments. SPARC is committed to providing a comprehensive approach to address multiple needs of a marginalized population. To achieve these goals we have partnered with several different agencies that provide onsite clinical services, including the Baltimore City Health Department, Healthcare for the Homeless, Behavioral Health Leadership Institute, and Maryland Legal Aid. SPARC is spending the week refreshing our space & our neighborhood, and learning about more ways we can continue to serve our community.

A huge shout out to Blue Water Baltimore for organizing a Tree Planting day right in Pigtown! Our team had a great time learning about the incredible work you all are doing to keep our neighborhoods & waterways healthy 🌳🌊 We were also grateful for the chance to build connections and plant trees alongside neighbors!

You might have also spotted our SPARC syringe cleanup crew around Pigtown. While some of us were planting trees, the rest of our crew was out and about safely collecting & disposing of over 100 syringes.

If you are in Southwest Baltimore and need syringe litter safely collected & disposed of - check out the link in our bio for our Syringe Cleanup Request form !

Earlier this month, our team gathered at Old Major (Baltimore) for a staff happy hour, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their hospitality.

Over the past year, Old Major has been neighbors in the truest sense. During challenging times, they welcomed us, supported us, hosted our celebrations, and consistently showed up for our community. Their kindness and solidarity have meant so much to our team.
It’s heartbreaking to see them now facing harassment and racist abuse themselves. No business or neighbor should have to endure intimidation, hate, or violence simply for existing and serving their community.
Thank you Old Major for your generosity, your courage, and for continuing to create a space where people feel welcome.

If you’re looking for a place to grab a drink, share a meal, or support a business that truly cares about its community, we hope you’ll stop by. We know we’ll keep coming back. ❤️

SPARC stands in support with in saying no time limits on shelter stays in Baltimore! In August 2025, the Mayor’s Office of Homeless Services (MOHS) issued a draft policy regarding shelter stays in Baltimore City shelters. Under this proposal, families would be allowed to stay a continuous 120-days with the opportunity for a 30 day extension and individuals would be allowed to stay a continuous 90-days with the opportunity for a 30 day extension. Here at SPARC, we know from our participant experiences that 90 days is NOT a sufficient amount of time for people experiencing homelessness to regain stability and acquire housing and stand strongly in opposition to policies that reinforce damaging assumptions and narratives about people experiencing homelessness. Please share widely and sign HON’s petition to demand no time limits on shelter stays!

Introducing our little free library at SPARC! HUGE shout out to all the folks in the community that have supported with this, and a special shoutout to for their book donations to help keep us stocked! Here at SPARC, we provide lots of basic necessities for living (food, medical services, hygiene and safer living supplies!) and supporting folks in finding joy and comfort in a good book is not just an optional comfort, but a necessity! Books are flying out of the library, so stop by and pick up a book or bring us some of your faves to keep the library moving! 🤓

Keep your eyes peeled as we start to brainstorm a day to beautify this baby with a coat of paint (color suggestions always welcome!)

And eat some yummy pizza while you’re at it! You can also email [email protected] to get added to the listserv and get the latest on volunteer opportunities coming outside of our regular kit making nights :)
