Meet Your Therapist: Zhamara Walker

Zhamara works with children, adolescents, and adults, supporting clients navigating anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, life transitions, and trauma-related stress.

She’s passionate about helping clients better understand themselves and their experiences, recognize their strengths, build confidence, and develop practical tools they can carry with them beyond the therapy room.

Zhamara draws from CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, and Strengths-Based & Solution-Focused strategies — with a goal of helping clients feel heard and empowered while building the skills they need for lasting change.

Set Hope in Motion.

Springboard Community Services is building the Springboard Youth Training Center, an $18 million facility dedicated to Baltimore youth facing homelessness. Opening in Spring 2027, the center will give young people the training and support they need to build stable, independent futures.

Over the coming weeks, we will share updates from the construction site and ways you can get involved.

October is a month to pause, reflect, and raise awareness.

This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we're coming together to remind our community of a simple truth: every person deserves to be safe, respected, and loved.

It's a time to speak up, stand with survivors, and work toward a future without abuse. Awareness is where change starts, and community is how it grows. So let's keep learning, keep sharing resources, and keep showing up for one another.

Kindness, respect, and love aren't extras. They're rights every person deserves. Together, we can build safer homes and stronger communities.

Meet Jess Rehrey, one of our therapists in Harford County, with immediate openings! 💚

Jess has worked in mental health counseling since 2010, supporting children, adolescents, and adults through anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, emotional and behavioral challenges, and co-occurring and substance use disorders. She has a particular passion for working with teens and clients with co-occurring disorders.

Her experience spans hospitals, outpatient care, and inpatient recovery centers, and she tailors her approach to each person, drawing from CBT, PSB-CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy.

Save the date. Collective Conversations: Setting Hope in Motion returns Monday, May 10 and Tuesday, May 11, 2027, at The Center Club in Baltimore.

Every profession brings an important perspective to the work of supporting the mental health and well-being of children, families, and communities. And no one profession has all the answers.

Collective Conversations brings together professionals from across healthcare, behavioral health, education, child welfare, law enforcement, victim services, legal systems, prevention, research, policy, and community organizations to learn from one another and explore the challenges we share.

New this year: An Evening of Connection & Conversation, a reception on Monday, May 10 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

The Call for Speakers opens today and closes October 28. We are looking for presenters willing to share what they have learned, whether that is an innovative program, emerging research, a practical strategy, a difficult lesson, or a promising idea. Proposals are welcome across six interest pathways: Clinical Practice & Treatment, Community Response & Prevention, Justice, Protection & Advocacy, Systems & Leadership, Research & Innovation, and Professional Practice & Sustainability.
