Meet Bromo Artist, Alexis Irby!

What happens when the objects we overlook become the starting point for a story?

For Alexis, found objects, natural materials, and discarded fragments become the building blocks for sculpture that is playful, curious, and full of possibility. Based in Columbia, Maryland, she is a visual artist and educator whose practice draws inspiration from both nature and post-consumer objects.

At the heart of Alexis' practice is a simple but compelling idea: pay attention to what you encounter.

We’re thrilled to celebrate Everyman Theatre Resident Company Member Jefferson A. Russell, who has been selected as a 2026 Lunt-Fontanne Fellow!

Hosted by the Ten Chimneys Foundation, this prestigious national fellowship recognizes a select group of accomplished regional theatre actors whose careers reflect artistic excellence, leadership, mentorship, and a lasting commitment to the American theatre.

A Baltimore native, accomplished actor, mentor, and advocate, Jefferson brings decades of artistry and community connection to his work. We’re so proud to see him represent Baltimore and Everyman on this national stage!

The Bromo Art Walk may be behind us, but the momentum isn't stopping!

We're keeping that spotlight shining on our Bromo artists with Baltimore Open Studio Tour Weekend, October 10 & 11, 10 AM–5 PM.

This time, slow down and go deeper: full days, working studios, and one-on-one time with the makers behind the work.

Inside the Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower, you'll find:
📸 Jim Conyers — headshot & branding photographer capturing Baltimore's people at their most authentic

🌿 Rejjia Camphor — transdisciplinary artist, writer, and organizer whose work explores Black girlhood, ecology, memory, and healing

🧵 Sheila Crider — self-taught fiber and textile artist known for "Blackstraction," her signature take on abstract art through wall hangings and collage

And just down the street in our district, don't miss:
🎭 Bryan Robinson at The Black Genius Art Show — live drawing, wearable art, and a decade of bold, original Baltimore creativity

If Art Walk gave you a taste, this is your chance to come back, explore the studios, and really sit with the work.

It's officially fall in Bromo — and that means it's Free Fall Baltimore season!

Every October, Free Fall Baltimore turns Charm City into one giant open invitation to the arts — a full month of free concerts, performances, workshops, and exhibitions held in celebration of National Arts and Humanities Month. Over 100 free events, 50+ participating organizations, and 31 straight days of creativity across the city.

We are so honored that the Bromo Arts District is right in the middle of it this year, hosting four incredible Free Fall events. Mark your calendars — swipe to see what's happening right in our neighborhood.

All four events are completely free and open to everyone!
