Grants for Artists is now accepting applications!

Unlike many independent artist grants, GFA awards are based primarily on eligibility. MSAC staff review applications, then allocate grants to each county or jurisdiction in proportion to its share of eligible applications. Awards are selected at random.

Join Independent Artist Services Program Director Hadassah St. Hubert to discuss what support would be most meaningful to you and your creative work. Registration is open for this week’s session, link: bit.ly/msacevents

Apply by Friday, November 20 on SmartSimple. Learn more on our website, link: https://msac.org/programs/grants-artists

Roll call ! From our sandy beaches to rolling farmlands - our artists and arts organizations truly make our little state special.

We were proud to bring a little Maryland magic to the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies last week.

Thanks to DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities and National Assembly of State Arts Agencies: NASAA for hosting a great conference!

The Emerald Isle Club of Baltimore County was formed by Irish immigrants in 1956 to keep Irish traditions alive. Through monthly ceilis, or dances, and other events, the club offers all Marylanders opportunities to experience Irish music, dance, language, literature, and other aspects of Irish culture.

In 2024, Emerald Isle Club received a Heritage Award from Maryland Traditions in recognition of its lasting impact on the community.

Last chance: MSAC’s Heritage Awards are accepting nominations through October 2! The six awards recognize long-term achievement in traditional arts across three categories annually: people, places, and traditions. Each awardee also receives a grant to use at their discretion.

Start your nomination on SmartSimple and learn more at msac.org (link in bio).
