‼️‼️LONG POST AHEAD BUT PLEASE READ IT, MAYBE EVEN TWICE AND HELP US SPREAD THE WORD. We are trying to prevent a few bad apples from running the whole batch!!‼️‼️
THIS A COMMUNITY REMINDER ABOUT OUR RECYCLING TRAILERS ♻️
We need to have an important conversation about our recycling trailers and the responsibility that comes with using them.
Today, the area around our trailers was cleaned up before I left work at 5:00 PM. At 6:49 PM, I received these photos showing trash bags, and cardboard left on the ground BESIDE our trailers instead of being placed properly inside the trailers. Please be mindful of your own personal information and more importantly, respectful of the space and the people who work hard to keep it clean.
This is not okay.
Our recycling program is here to serve our community and provide a valuable service. We are happy to offer these trailers as a convenient place for our community to recycle, but we are NOT here to clean up trash that is left on the ground. The trailers are there for a reason, and we ask that everyone please use them properly. Cardboard needs to be flattened and all recyclable materials need to be placed inside the appropriate trailer.
Our recycling program takes time, effort, and resources to maintain. When people leave messes behind, it creates additional work for our staff and takes time away from the individuals and vocational opportunities our program is here to support.
If we, as a community, cannot do better, we may eventually reach a point where we can no longer leave the recycling trailers outside our center for public use. That is not what we want, but we cannot continue to offer this convenience if the area is not respected.
Please help us keep this resource available to everyone. Use the trailers properly, flatten your cardboard, put materials in the appropriate trailers, and clean up after yourself. Treat this space with the same respect you would expect others to show your own property.
I also want to take a moment to THANK the community member who took the time to send me these photos, break down the cardboard that had been left behind, and place it in the correct trailer. That kind of consideration and community involvement is exactly what we need more of. Instead of leaving the mess for someone else, this individual stepped up and helped make things right. Thank you for caring about our program and helping keep our community clean! 💚
We appreciate everyone who uses our recycling program responsibly and helps us make a positive difference in our community. Let’s work together to keep this resource available for everyone. 💚♻️
