One of NJ's most recognized landmarks. "Old Barney" is a 172-foot lighthouse built in 1858, located at the north end of Long Beach Island, N.J.

First lit on January 1,1859.

It's almost time for another night climb (and beach campfire!)
The Friends of Barnegat Lighthouse State Park will be holding the last night climb of the season on Saturday, Oct. 24th, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. (last climber in the lighthouse at 8:30). This fun event will include a beach campfire sponsored by Ocean County Parks & Recreation.

REMINDER! On October 1st, the parking lot gates will be locked at 6 p.m. Lighthouse hours remain 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, weather permitting.

Bobby Capri takes off his shoes, jumps into the tidepool, catches a dogfish, and throws it back into the inlet- just in time from it becoming lunch for a very interested seagull.
