On September 9th, 2026, at approximately 2028 hours Barnsdall Police Officers were called for a single vehicle accident at the Dollar General located at 501 N 8th Street.

Officers arrived to locate a female driver who had driven their car into a drainage culvert on the South side of the exit. The driver was identified as Cynthia Lou Halford.

After Halford spoke with medical officers performed SFSTs (standardized field sobriety tests), Halford was taken into custody and read implied consent. After agreeing to states tests. Halford was transported to the Osage County Jail on the charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substance first offense and traffic related offenses.

The vehicle was released to a licensed sober family member.

This is an arrest not a conviction.

Barnsdall Police Department would like to extend our sympathies to the family, friends, and the Dewey Police Department for the loss of Sergeant Hicks. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during your time of morning.

We would also like to thank Sergeant Hicks for is assistance during search and rescue operations following the tornado on May 6th, 2024.

On Tuesday, August 25th, 2026, at approximately 1751 hours, while patrolling on 7th Street, A Barnsdall Officer noticed a female laying in the heat on a porch.

While checking welfare of the female, she was identified as Crystal Gale Rush. Crystal had felony warrants out of Osage County, along with a warrant for the City of Barnsdall.

Crystal was taken into custody and transported to the Osage County Jail to be booked and held on her warrants.

This is an arrest not a conviction.

Our apologizes for being behind on posting all the updated news. It has been a busy few months with lots of things going on.

Our goal is to keep the citizen’s informed and will look to keep more up to date information provided going forward.

That being said, the warrants list is updated and reflects current warrants. We are working to offer a courtesy day once a month to allow people to come in and pay the warrant fee to have the warrant recalled and issued a new court day.

On Saturday, August 15th, 2026, at approximately 1013 hours, Barnsdall Police officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of West Birch in reference to a wanted person.

Sammy Moody was located at the residence and taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Osage County Jail to be booked on his warrant out of Osage county

Charges on the warrant include: Furnishing alcohol to person under 21 and embezzlement.
