Have you taken the Regional Open Space survey?

Protecting open space and natural resources is one of the key regional goals identified in the 2025 Cape Cod Regional Policy Plan (RPP). The Cape Cod Commission is developing a Regional Open Space Plan to outline a path forward to protect Cape Cod's open spaces and natural landscapes, which ensure the continued health of the region's natural systems, economy, and population. The regional plan will support local open space planning processes and will align with goals and objectives for the region.

This survey, which will take just a few minutes to complete, is an opportunity for you to share your thoughts and participate in the planning process.

Cape Cod’s historic buildings, village centers, and streetscapes define the region’s unique character.

These historic features strengthen community identity, connect present-day residents and visitors to the past, and help shape the places people recognize and value. Preserving Cape Cod’s historic resources, while also allowing properties to evolve, is essential for the region’s future planning.

A new historic preservation incentive bylaw, drafted by Cape Cod Commission staff, aims to help communities preserve historic resources while supporting necessary growth. Instead of relying only on restrictions, the model bylaw offers zoning incentives that make preservation, rehabilitation, and adaptive reuse more practical and attractive alternatives to demolition.
