Making Opportunity Count CFCE & ParentChild+ Making Opportunity Count's CFCE & ParentChild+ are preschool support programs funded by the MA Dept of Early Education and Care. Ages 15 mth-2.9 years.

MOC Coordinated Family and Community Engagement (CFCE) Local Family Focused Programming and Services to support you as your child first teacher. Your local CFCE offers Playgroups, Educational family events, Information and referral and opportunity to connect with other families in your community. Parent Child Home Visiting Program (PCHP) Is a FREE home bases Literacy Program for parents and their children that promotes learning and language development through the use of books and toys. Trained Home Visitors will visit with you and your child twice a week bringing Free developmentally appropriate books and toys. Call or email for more information regarding these programs

Books on Board: This literacy based program allows parents be able to offer their children a variety of interesting books and toys without having to leave home. The themed book bags are rotated the year. Each month you will receive a new book bag filled with wonderful books and toys, delivered by our Books on Board Coordinator. Parents also have the opportunity to participate in a one time 2 hour workshop that will educate them on the basics of early literacy.

Today CFCE staff enjoyed a PROJECT LEARNING TREE and GROWING UP WILD full day training, at the DCR River Bend Farm. They look forward to adding more hands on activities to our new weekly nature playgroups, Trees & Me!

Our Hubbardston Trees & Me Playgroup made one large nature collage to hang up inside our Barre Playroom today! All six trees we are watching are right on schedule for officially turing colors now, so we could collect data for the Harvard Forest Schoolyard Ecology Project. We made stick alphabet letters, and found a few wolly bear caterpillars, before heading back home! Join us again for the last few Fall days of data collection, before we pick new nature spots to enjoy this Winter.

It was a pumpkin math rainy kind of day for Barre Playgroup! We made patterns, we made graphs, we used a hammer, rulers, playdough, pumpkin candies, and golf tees! We practiced folding our math paper into eight sections, found and labled the orange objects hidden in our sensory bin, and played a few rounds of monster bowling before singing five little pumpkins! We say a big "Thank you" to Jessica from our Making Opportunity Count HEAP (fuel assistance) department for making the trip out to visit us this morning, with all her resources to help support families this Winter. We look forward to more playgroups with Jessica this month!

CFCE is happy to announce Making Opportunity Count's HEAP (Fuel Assistance) program will begin visiting our playgroups to provide information about their services and resources. As well as our yearly visits from Quabbin Regional School District's Superintendent Mrs Mucha start up this week. We encourage families to join us for the first round of these special learning days. Hardwick Playgroup continued Trees & Me today, and made leaf portraits of ourselves. Last week we created some Rainbow Fish out of clay!

Join us next Friday, Oct. 16 at 10 a.m. upstairs at the Municipal Building, 307 Main St., Gilbertville (side door entrance) for a special playgroup with Colleen Mucha, Superintendent of the Quabbin Regional School District.

What a great turnout at our Westminster Library Playgroup! ❤️

Our group was made up mostly of children ages 2 and under. The little ones were developing their fine motor skills using bingo daubers, practicing early math skills through sorting activities, and learning the importance of sharing with their friends.

We hope to see more families join us on October 20th at our Coleman Street location for our Infant/Toddler Playgroup! We look forward to seeing you there! 😊

Our Barre Infant/Toddlers had a busy morning of creating sticky paper art, finding the color orange hidden all over the playroom, singing fall songs, and working on our social skills. Join us at this location each month on Thursdays for our 0-2 age specfic Playgroup. Our next date is November 12 !
