**Confire** I want to thank the City Council for approving a motion last night moving Confire foward for future discussion. This is one step of many needed to improve Fire protection for the City of Barstow. By doing so, we are able to address critical needs for the way emergency response units are dispatched within our community.
For those who don’t know what Confire is, it’s an emergency command center which offers regional dispatch services and an emergency communication nurse system.
We understand after watching last night’s city council meeting there may be questions or concerns on why a contract with Confire is right for the members of our Fire Department, also critical to meet the safety needs of our community. We are always willing to have discussions in order to provide clarity on these questions.
