A little over a year ago we obtained a new tool, thanks to the County Commissioners and a grant we were able to get a track skid steer with a fyrebx. Fyrebx is an attachment that contains 300gal of water with a very powerful hydraulic pump as well as a built in blade to push brush, small trees, soil, to create fire breaks. We have been training and learning how, when, where it can be used most effectively and have been on multiple fire scenes already and have had great success. Very glad to have this resource available.

As the drought and heat have continued, fuels have become very dry and burn easily. Please use extreme caution when doing anything that could spark a fire!

Washington County Fire Department responded last night to assist Bartlesville Fire with a large structure fire in Colonial. The Fire resulted in a partial structural collapse and extensive smoke and water damage. But due to BFD's aggressive initial attack, a majority of the house was saved. WCFD also had personnel in Caney assisting with flood efforts. Please keep all of those who have suffered losses overnight in your prayers.

Tonight WCFD firefighters took time to test and train on equipment and ensure all was in working order.
