🎃 Happy Halloween from Bartow Executive Airport! 💀✈️

Our newest line crew member showed up for his shift today, and we have to say, he's been working his bones off! He's great at holding the chocks... not so great at holding a conversation. 😉

Whether you're flying in for the weekend or trick-or-treating closer to home, we hope your Halloween is full of treats, clear skies, and smooth landings. Please keep an eye out for little ghosts and goblins on the roads tonight!

Stay safe and have a spook-tacular Halloween! 👻

Happy International Day of the Air Traffic Controller! ✈️

Today we’re celebrating the air traffic controllers at Bartow Executive Airport (KBOW). They are among the best in the business, and they’ve been at the leading edge of implementing digital tower technology, bringing professionalism and expertise to everything they do.

Their tenacity and integrity keep our airfield safe and efficient every single day, and we’re grateful for all they do. Whether it’s a busy Saturday or a quiet morning, they’re always calm, friendly, and one step ahead.

Now we want to hear from you! Have a great story or a favorite memory with our KBOW controllers? Drop a comment below and give them a shout-out. 👇

Thank you, KBOW controllers! We appreciate you today and every day. 👏

Thank You for a Spooktacular Evening at Bartow Executive Airport! 🎃 ✈️

What a night! Trunk or Treat was a hit, and the weather held out to give us a beautiful evening for it.

Our airport team had a blast meeting trick or treaters of all ages, from tiny superheroes and princesses to grown-up goblins who were just as excited as the kids. The costumes, the smiles, and the laughter made it a night to remember.

A big thank you to our friends in the aviation community and the greater Bartow community for joining us, decorating airplanes, trucks, and trunks, and helping make this event so special. Collaborations like this are what make Bartow Executive Airport more than a place to take off and land. It’s a place where our community comes together.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by. We can’t wait to do it again next year!

An especially enthusiastic thank you to our event sponsors, Ewing, Blackwelder & Duce Insurance Agency and Frequentis.

Jellyfish over Bartow. 🪼

SpaceX CRS-35 launched before sunrise this morning, and with the sun still below the horizon, the light caught the exhaust plume just right.

On November 4, 1954, Aviation Cadet Carlos A. Urteaga of Peru completed Primary Pilot Training at Bartow Air Base.

He was one of many international students who learned to fly here during the Cold War. Under the Mutual Defense Assistance Program — authorized by the Mutual Defense Assistance Act that President Truman signed in October 1949 — the United States trained pilots from allied nations at fields across the country. The United States Air Force Air Training Command hosted them at Bartow, alongside cadets from Belgium, France, Italy, Venezuela, Norway, Pakistan, Morocco, Mexico, Denmark, Thailand, and more.

MDAP students received the same primary flight training as their American classmates. The same instructors. Same aircraft. Same standard.

We are privileged to hold a copy of Mr. Urteaga's certificate of proficiency, which he generously provided when the museum was established at Bartow Executive Airport.

🚌 The bus is here. Now let's fill it!

Today marks the official kickoff of our Stuff the Bus campaign, and we're inviting our community to help local students start the school year with confidence.

For many families, the cost of school supplies adds up quickly. By donating new backpacks, notebooks, pencils, crayons, folders, and other classroom essentials, you're helping ensure students have the tools they need to learn from day one.

Every donation, whether it's one pack of pencils or a backpack full of supplies, makes a difference.

📍 Drop off new school supplies at the Bartow Chamber or any participating collection location throughout the campaign.

Together, we can make sure every student is ready for a successful school year. Let's Stuff the Bus! 🎒📚💛
