Yesterday our 4th and 5th graders were able to part of the Texas A&M Chemistry Road Show presentation. This road show brings science to life with fun and exciting experiences such as chemical reactions, fire reactions, and foam (make sure and ask your student about the elephant toothpaste.)

The experience had our students engaged and asking questions about science and they learned just how fun and exciting science can be.

Thank you to Professor Pennington with Texas A&M University (Whoop!) for coming to educate our future scientists and to Mrs. Fitzhugh for coordinating this AMAZING EXPERIENCE for our students.

☕🥯 COE Has the BEST Parents!🙌

Our Kindergarten and Life Skills teachers cannot express enough appreciation for the wonderful parents who treated us to Einstein Bros. Bagels and coffee this morning! What a perfect way to end the week! ☕✨

Thank you so much for thinking of us and for showing our teachers so much love and appreciation. Small acts of kindness like this make such a big difference and remind us how lucky we are to be part of such a supportive school community.

COE is the place to be, and families like YOU are a big part of what makes it so special! We are so grateful for you! 💚💙🤍🐾

It was a short week but a full one! Monday, we kicked off Dyslexia Awareness Week by wearing red and highlighting some of our own staff. On Tuesday, we welcomed the Bastrop Fire Department who held assemblies for all of our kinder through fifth grade students on fire safety. Then today, it was a pink out at Colony Oaks in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Enjoy your four-day weekend and we look forward to seeing many of your faces on Monday for parent teacher conferences.

Kindergarten celebrated the end of their Fairy Tales and Folk Tales unit with interactive rotations today! Students built strong houses so the “ wolf “ couldn’t blow them down, tasted some too warm and too cold “ porridge, “ acted out different tales with felt board characters, and had races between the turtle and the hare!
