🔥 Cooking Safety Starts With You! 🍳

Cooking fires can happen quickly, but a few simple habits can help keep your home and family safe.

✅ Stay in the kitchen while cooking.
✅ Keep towels, oven mitts, paper products, and other flammable items away from the stove.
✅ Turn pot handles inward so they can’t be bumped or pulled down.
✅ Keep children and pets at least 3 feet away from the cooking area.
✅ Keep a lid nearby when cooking so you can quickly cover a small grease fire.
✅ Never use water on a grease fire.
✅ Make sure smoke alarms are working properly.

Stay alert, cook with care, and help prevent kitchen fires! 🔥

🔥 Fire Safety Tip: Test Your Smoke Alarms Monthly!

Smoke alarms can provide critical early warning during a fire. Take a few minutes each month to press the test button and make sure every alarm in your home is working properly.

Check that smoke alarms are installed on every level of your home, replace batteries as needed, and never ignore a chirping alarm.

A working smoke alarm can save lives.
