BREC's Magnolia Mound MMP holds daily tours of the plantation home and outbuildings. Educational exhibits are displayed quarterly. http://www.friendsofmagnoliamound.org/

Through educational programs, workshops, lectures, festivals and other special events, Magnolia Mound's mission is to illustrate and interpret the lifestyle of the French Creoles who formed the fascinating culture which still influences the area. Located in the state’s capitol, BREC's Magnolia Mound is a rare survivor of the vernacular architecture influenced by early settlers from France and the West Indies. This venerable landmark is unique in southern Louisiana not simply because of its age, quality of restoration or outstanding collections, but because it is still a vital part of the community. Through educational programs, workshops, lectures, festivals and other special events, MMP’s mission is to illustrate and interpret the lifestyle of the French Creoles who formed the fascinating culture, which still influences and pervades life in southern Louisiana. A number of special events are held throughout the year, including a French Creole Christmas Candlelight Tour and Black History Month. The plantation also hosts an historical society and occasional workshops and demonstrations on arts and crafts such as quilting, black powder muskets, lace tatting, and open-hearth cooking.

Baton Rouge Cemeteries by Faye Phillips

This volume is a compilation of photographs portraying cemeteries in the Baton Rouge area. In addition to the photos are snippets of the history and historical figures surround the multitude of burials. Famous residents, original inhabitants, and war veterans make up a few of the figures associated with Baton Rouge's early history. Even a few figures of Magnolia Mound's past are mentioned.

Doll Pieces-

These ceramic doll pieces found by LSU archaeology students in the 1970s represent an array of 19th century styles. These items were found in an area behind the historic house. Ceramic pieces such as these were attached to a cloth body. Over time, the organic materials of the torso would rot away while buried, leaving behind the ceramic pieces. Germany and France had large toy producing industries and they would've been imported into the United States.
