Today, LOCD Executive Director Gina Campo joined St. John the Baptist Parish President Jaclyn Hotard, local officials and project partners, to celebrate the groundbreaking for the Reserve Relief Homewood Pump Station Replacement and Drainage Improvements Project.

Funded through the Louisiana Watershed Initiative (LWI), this major flood risk reduction project features a new 400 CFS pump station that doubles the area's pumping capacity, along with drainage improvements designed to move stormwater more efficiently throughout the community. The project includes three new vertical submersible pumps, an expanded intake basin, widened canals and ditches, upgraded railroad and highway crossings and improvements to neighborhood drainage infrastructure.

These investments strengthen critical infrastructure, improve stormwater management and help protect residents and businesses from future flooding while building a more resilient Louisiana.
