As we enter cold and flu season, we want to remind families that not every sniffle means your child needs to stay home!
✅ When Your Child Can Come to School:
A mild cough, slightly runny nose, or mild sore throat does not automatically mean your child needs to stay home, as long as they are not experiencing a fever or other symptoms that require them to stay home.
💊 Need Medication?
Fremont can administer Tylenol or Ibuprofen with a signed parent/guardian consent form, following school medication procedures. Please reach out to the office to complete a consent form.
🏠 When Should Your Child Stay Home?
Please keep your child home if they have a fever, are vomiting, have diarrhea, or are experiencing significant symptoms that prevent them from participating in the school day.
📚 A Friendly Reminder About Attendance:
Even when your child is sick, whether they stay home initially or are sent home during the school day, the day still counts as an absence. If your child visits a doctor, please request a doctor's note and send it to school. We understand that illness happens, and we always want students to stay home when they need to recover. When symptoms are mild and your child feels well enough to learn, we encourage them to attend school!
Thank you for partnering with us to keep our students healthy, learning, and at school as much as possible!
