🐛📚 : Bringing Stories to Life! 🦋🐾

First grade has been exploring the wonderful world of books written by Eric Carle during library time! To wrap up their author study, students read the beloved classic The Very Hungry Caterpillar and then brought the story to life by creating their very own caterpillars! 🎨📖

Using paper plates, crayons, and plenty of imagination, students transformed a favorite story into a hands-on learning experience. They recreated what the caterpillar ate each day, how it formed a cocoon, and its amazing transformation into a beautiful butterfly! 🐛➡️🦋

Activities like this show how library time can be about so much more than checking out books! Students get to explore stories in creative ways, strengthen their comprehension, practice retelling, and make meaningful connections with what they read.

At Rosspoint, we want our Wildcats to do more than simply read the words on a page. We want them to develop a lifelong love of literacy, use their imaginations, and discover the excitement that comes with every new story! ❤️📚
