STORM PREPAREDNESS
How You Can Prepare and What to Watch For
Before the Storm
• Secure outdoor water related items (irrigation timers, backflow covers, loose items near your meter).
• Report any damaged or missing sewer cleanout caps or meter lids.
• Ensure outdoor natural gas equipment is secure and protected from high winds.
During the Storm
• Conserve water; avoid using large amounts when possible.
• Only flush toilet paper to keep drains clear during heavy rainfall.
• Watch for signs of natural gas leaks (strong odor or hissing). Leave immediately and call our emergency line if detected.
After the Storm
• Check around your property for standing water or unusual system behavior.
• Report wastewater backups, low pressure, leaks, or anything unusual.
• Do not attempt to relight natural gas appliances if service was interrupted — our team must inspect the system first.
• Use caution around debris that may conceal damaged water or gas infrastructure.
Our Response - Our crews will respond to water, wastewater, and natural gas issues as soon as the severe portion of the storm has passed and conditions are safe.
