I’m honored, and honestly a little bittersweet, to share that I have taken on the role of President of the Torlakson Whole Child Institute.
My husband, Tom, founded the Institute and poured so much of his heart and energy into its mission. Stepping into the role he has held is emotional for me, especially because his illness is what has made this transition necessary.
I feel a strong sense of purpose and determination to carry forward the work Tom began. I want to honor his vision while bringing my own energy and ideas to the Institute as we continue working to support children, families, educators, and our communities.
I’m grateful for the confidence and support of our board, partners, and friends, and I look forward to this next chapter with humility, love, and commitment.
The mission of the Torlakson Whole Child Institute is to identify, develop, and serve as a catalyst to successfully scale innovative, whole-child and whole-community solutions to key challenges facing California public school students.
