October brings a shift in Bayfield. 🍎🍁📚 The crowds thin, routines return, and our community begins to turn toward one another again.
As the chaos of Applefest winds down, we're thinking about our community reading of The Serviceberry, which reminded us that we all have something to give. That's part of why we love co-hosting Repair Cafés.
Someone has a broken toy. Someone else knows how to fix it.
Someone needs help with a phone. Someone happens to know exactly which setting to change.
Someone can mend a sweater. Someone knows how to felt the hole.
That's reciprocity. That's community. And it doesn't require everyone to have the same skills.
Our next Repair Café, co-hosted by the Bayfield Carnegie Library and CORE Community Resources, is this Saturday, October 10 from 9am—12pm.
If you have a household item, piece of clothing, gadget, or other beloved thing that needs some attention, bring it along and let our volunteer fixers take a look.
Don't have anything you need fixed? We’re always looking for impromptu volunteers to “drink coffee,” strike up a conversation, and keep repair guests company. It’s an open-house style event, so stay for 10 minutes or the whole three hours.
Stop by, grab a fresh cup of coffee, and check out the event!
