What an amazing event last night for such an important cause!!

In recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the Bayonne Police and Fire Departments came together for a friendly softball game, but the true main event was watching the incredible athletes of our Buddy Baseball League take the field!

Thank you to everyone who came out, participated, supported and helped make the night special!

Our COP Unit had a great time visiting our friends at Bayonne Head Start.

Our officers enjoyed spending time with the students, dancing, playing games, participating in activities, and giving the students a chance to check out a Bayonne Police vehicle up close!

The students also received a special visit from the Bayonne Police Department's Therapy K-9 Seamus, with his handler, Officer Dwyer, who was there to greet and treat the students with plenty of love and attention!

It was a fun-filled visit with lots of smiles, laughter, and positive interactions. We always enjoy spending time with our youngest residents and building strong relationships within our community!

On behalf of the Bayonne Police Department, we would like to thank Sanjay Prabhakar and the entire IHOP team, located at 211 Lefante Way, for hosting today’s Coffee With a Cop event.

Most importantly, thank you to all of our community members who stopped by, shared a cup of coffee, and took the time to talk with our officers. Your conversations, questions, and feedback are what make events like this so meaningful.

We also want to recognize our Community Oriented Policing Unit and all of the members of the Bayonne Police Department who participated and spent time connecting with our residents.

Coffee With a Cop is a nationwide program designed to build relationships between law enforcement and the communities we serve by creating opportunities for informal, meaningful conversations. There are no speeches, no formal agenda, and no set topics—just an opportunity to sit down, have a conversation, and talk about what matters to our community.

Chief Scerbo added “A special thanks to Jersey City Police Deputy Chief Dan Solitti for stopping by. Deputy Chief Solitti is an academy mate of Chief Scerbo and Captain Tom Hojnacki -JCPA Class #57 / 1990. Great seeing you Dan”

Thank you, Bayonne, for continuing to make community engagement a priority. We look forward to seeing you at our next event!
