Good afternoon, Alba Shark Families!

We will be administering our ACAP practice tests on the following dates:

🔵 Wednesday, October 21st: Practice with ACAP online tools
🔴 Friday, October 23: ELA 1 and 2
🔵 Tuesday, October 27: ELA 3
🔴 Friday, October 30: Math 1 and 2

Attendance is extremely important! Please make sure your student is on campus and ready to test on these dates. The data we collect will help us identify areas where students need additional support so we can strengthen their classroom performance and prepare them for success on the ACAP this spring.

Please talk with your student about the importance of taking every diagnostic, practice test, and the ACAP assessment seriously. These assessments help us understand what our students know and what they still need to learn.

At Alba, we believe in our students. We believe in our community. We believe in our school. Together, we can help our students reach their full potential!

Thank you for your continued support and for making sure your student is at school every day. Let’s keep moving forward and helping our Alba Sharks succeed!

Sharks Take Down Rams 21-8, Clinch Home-Field Advantage in MCPSS Playoff
MOBILE, Ala. — The Alba Sharks defeated the Booker T. Washington Rams 21-8 on Thursday, October 15th, at LeFlore Magnet High School. Booker T. Washington fumbled the opening snap, and Nate Edwards quickly pounced on the loose football to gain possession. The Sharks put together a five-play scoring drive capped off by an 8-yard touchdown run from quarterback Garner Billante. The Sharks defense continued to apply pressure on the Rams' next possession, forcing a three-and-out and quickly returning the football to the offense. Alba's defensive unit delivered another momentum-changing play when Grayson Roberson broke through the line of scrimmage and forced a fumble in the Rams' backfield. Trey Johnson was there to recover the loose football, giving the Sharks another opportunity to extend their lead. Billante powered his way into the end zone from two yards out for his second rushing touchdown of the night making the score 14-0. Alba’s defense kept the Rams out of the end zone and preserved the two touchdown lead heading into the halftime break.
On Alba's opening possession of the second half, explosive running back Aken Miller broke free for a 36-yard touchdown run, extending the Sharks' lead to 21-0. With a three-touchdown advantage, the Sharks turned their attention toward protecting the lead and controlling the remaining time on the clock. Booker T. Washington refused to go away quietly, however. Late in the fourth quarter, the Rams put together a scoring drive of their own, finding the end zone on a rushing touchdown and adding the conversion to cut Alba's lead to 21-8. Alba's offense took possession and successfully ran out the remaining time, denying the Rams another opportunity and securing the 21-8 victory. By defeating Booker T. Washington, Alba officially clinched home-field advantage in the MCPSS Middle School Football Playoffs, ensuring the Sharks will have the opportunity to compete in front of their home crowd when postseason play begins next Thursday at Meredith-Landry Stadium in Bayou la Batre, Alabama.
