The Bayport Fire Department has been providing emergency services to the hamlet of Bayport since 1891. We respond to fires, car accidents, water rescues, EMS and more 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with dedicated volunteer firefighters. 🌧️ NOR’EASTER SAFETY — BE PREPARED! 🌊

A strong coastal storm can bring heavy rain, strong winds, coastal flooding, dangerous surf, downed trees and power lines, and hazardous road conditions.

The Bayport Fire Department reminds everyone to take a few simple precautions:

🏠 STAY INFORMED — Monitor official weather alerts and local updates.

🔋 BE PREPARED — Charge phones and have flashlights, batteries, and essential supplies ready.

🚗 DRIVE WITH CAUTION — Expect wet roads, reduced visibility, and possible debris. Avoid unnecessary travel.

🌊 WATCH FOR COASTAL FLOODING — Stay away from beaches, docks, low-lying and flood-prone areas.

⚡ DOWNED WIRES — Stay away from downed power lines and assume every line is live.

💨 SECURE YOUR PROPERTY — Bring in or secure loose outdoor items and prepare for strong winds.

đźš’ Bayport Fire Department Mutual Aid Response đźš’

Yesterday at approximately 1:30 PM, the Bayport Fire Department was activated for a mutual aid response to a working residential structure fire in Fire Island Pines.

A crew of 9 Bayport firefighters responded and worked alongside members from multiple surrounding fire departments to battle and gain control of a very intense residential fire.

Our members operated in challenging conditions while working together with neighboring departments to protect life and property and bring the incident under control.

We are proud of the dedication and professionalism displayed by our members, and we thank all of the departments who worked alongside us.

Great work by all involved! 🚒🔥
