A simple adage with a powerful message.

It’s the 12th anniversary of the Boston Marathon Bombing.

Not a single patient transported by Boston EMS that day died.

Another example of patrol officers and conventional EMS entering highly dangerous and unstable situations. Did they know that there wasn’t another explosive device? Or five? Or ten? Of course not, but they went anyway.

Did they know that the explosives wouldn’t be followed by a barrage of small arms fire like Mumbai or Paris? They couldn’t know, but they went anyway.

There is no SWAT team in this photo. No SWAT medics, no RTF.

Just men and women doing the best they could in the face of the unthinkable.
