Fall clean up and a fresh banner at the Churchill St Compost drop off. Thanks to Hudson Valley Brewery for their partnership with the Conservation Advisory Committee. The compost program has diverted over 125,000 pounds to date in 2026 and over 400,000 pounds of organic waste from incineration over the program’s lifetime. Fall Pumpkin collection coming soon to Beacon with a special event to cap it off.

The Newburgh- Beacon ferry service will operate the weekends of October 3-4 and October 10-11, 2026. Through this action, we demonstrate demand and impact of ferry service to our community, and we will use what we learn from the pilot in our continued efforts towards permanent service restoration and expansion with Governor Hochul and the MTA.
There will be 14 crossings from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Fare is $1. Reserve your tickets at the FareHarbor link in bio.

Hudson Valley for Public Power coalition invites you to an upcoming town hall in Beacon on the topic of replacing Central Hudson with a not-for-profit utility, the Hudson Valley Power Authority.

The event will take place on Thursday, June 25th at 6:00 p.m., and will feature presentations from bill sponsor Assemblymember Sarahana Shrestha (District 103) and coalition organizers. The program will conclude with a Q&A portion.
