The 940th Air Refueling Wing has a long and distinguished history dating back to 1963. Beginning with troop carriers, the mission transitioned to air transport, military airlift, tactical airlift, air refueling, the C2ISR (command, control, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) mission and back to air refueling. Air Force and Air Force Reserve is to "deliver sovereign options for the defense of the United States of America and its global interests — to fly and fight ... in Air, Space, and Cyberspace." A lot of teamwork was put into "Beale Ownership Day" by the 940th yesterday. Thank you to all who participated. Our buildings, work areas, and break areas are looking great!
Beale Ownership day was conducted in alignment with National Public Lands Day and encouraged all working on Beale to help revitalize the installation by cleaning, performing grounds maintenance and taking care of facility issues.
