Kathryn, our Environmental Educator recently planned and facilitated Field Trip Programming for 83 fifth grade students over two days at Arcadia Marsh. She hopes that opportunities like these build student environmental knowledge, connection, and stewardship. A big thank you to all of the adults that helped make it happen. Support for this program was provided by the Manistee County Community Foundation through the Place-based Education: Building Belonging, Learning, Engagement (PEBBLE) project as part of the 2025 Fall Grant Program. This grant is supported through the MCCF Limitless Fund, the MCCF Manistee County Environmental Fund, the MCCF Donovan and Norma Anderson Fund, and the MCCF Minger Family Endowment Fund.

Our fall volunteer stream monitoring program is scheduled for Saturday, October 10!

Become a citizen scientist and help us collect macroinvertebrate samples from our local streams. This hands-on activity helps us track valuable data about the health of our streams, plus it's a great opportunity to get out in nature and see some beautiful fall colors 🦟🐌🐛🍁🍂

Help us recycle tires in Manistee County! We are looking for volunteers to help us on Wednesday, September 16 and Saturday, September 19.

These events give local residents an opportunity to properly recycle old tires that might otherwise end up illegally dumped or sitting unused. Volunteers are a HUGE part of making these events possible!

Tonight's Autumn Olive Workshop with ISN has been cancelled.

Good morning! Due to low registrations, we'll be cancelling our Manistee Autumn Olive Workshop. If you were thinking about coming, don't fret! You can join us in Leelanau County on Wednesday, September 2nd, or you can watch our recorded workshop from 2020 on our YouTube page (link below). Some of the information is out of date, including FAP Forester Josh Shields' ready-to-use herbicide study, and current EQIP rates for woody invasive management.
