The library will be closed May18th-31st due to construction. During this temporary closure, the service desk in the former Student Health Center will also be unavailable, along with access to Interlibrary Loan services, physical books, and reserve materials.

Shout out to Mary & John Gray library’s Special Collections and Lamar University Archive for their contribution to the Society of American Archivists 250 for the 250th initiative, a nationwide digital collection celebrating America’s 250th anniversary through archival materials and historical documents.

Our contribution highlights the history of the Spindletop Oil Field and the 1927 McFaddin No. 29 blowout, an important part of Southeast Texas history and the growth of the American oil industry.

Thank you to our Special Collections and Archives librarians and staff for continuing to preserve and share these stories, helping to make archival history accessible to everyone.
