One of the biggest misconceptions in government contracting is that the first step is finding opportunities.

It's not.

The first step is being ready for them.

If you're interested in subcontracting, prime contractors are looking for more than enthusiasm. They want to know:

✔ Is your business legally established?
✔ Do you have relevant past performance?
✔ Are you properly registered?
✔ Do you have the required insurance and credentials?

I was listening to something recently about weight loss.

The man said, “𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤.”

Simple enough.

But then he said something that really made me pause:

“𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐢𝐱𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬, 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐢𝐱 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬.”

That stayed with me. So I thought about 𝙩𝒆𝙖𝒎𝙞𝒏𝙜 𝙞𝒏 𝒄𝙤𝒏𝙩𝒓𝙖𝒄𝙩𝒊𝙣𝒈.
