π **STEM Camp Day 3: Coding a Dance Party!** π»πΊπ
Today our young innovators stepped into the world of **block coding** and discovered how programmers bring ideas to life! Using visual coding blocks, campers learned how to **program** characters to move, dance, and interact on screen.
As they built their own digital dance parties, students explored the concept of an **algorithm**βa step-by-step set of instructions that tells a computer what to do. They practiced breaking big ideas into smaller tasks, sequencing commands in the correct order, and testing their code to make sure everything worked as planned.
Through this hands-on activity, campers developed valuable STEM skills including:
β¨ Computational thinking
β¨ Problem-solving
β¨ Logical reasoning
β¨ Creativity and design
β¨ Debugging and perseverance
The best part was watching each camper add their own unique style and personality to their dance party creations. From synchronized moves to colorful backgrounds and exciting animations, every project showcased both coding skills and imagination!
We can't wait to see what our future programmers create next! π

Harmony Elementary's STEM Club explored the fascinating history of catapults and learned how simple machines have been used throughout history. Students then put their engineering skills to the test by designing and building their own carpults.
Through this hands-on activity, they developed skills in engineering design, problem-solving, critical thinking, measurement, and teamwork. Students also learned the importance of testing, analyzing results, and making improvements to their designs.
The project concluded with a friendly competition to see whose carpult could launch the farthest distance, making learning both fun and engaging.

Good morning parents and guardians!
Yesterday was a fantastic first day at STEM camp. Our campers jumped right into designing their own unique 3D printing creations. Through this hands-on project, they practiced critical engineering design and spatial reasoning skills while boosting their creativity and problem-solving abilities. It was incredible to watch them bring their ideas to life, and we cannot wait to see what they create during the rest of the week! Here is a picture of one of the projects they did in class today. Stay tuned more to come!
