Penn Power is preparing for a second scheduled power outage. The outage will take place Saturday June 27th from 11:30pm to Sunday June 28th at 7:30am. The rain date would be the same times starting on July 11th to July 12th. Automated messages will be sent out to those who are impacted by the outage on June 15th and June 22nd. If you have questions, feel free to contact First Energy at 1-800-720-3600. This is not a South Beaver Township sponsored outage, we are relaying the information as received, to make sure everyone is prepared.

South Beaver Township Planning Commission Board will not have a meeting in June.

Parts of South Beaver Township are included in the First Energy planned power outage. The estimated dates and times of the outage is Saturday May 30th from 11:30pm to Sunday May 31st at 7:30am. The rain date would be the same times starting June 6th to June 7th. This is being done to begin the transfer process for a new substation. Affected residents should receive a phone call from First Energy.

SB Community - There is a discrepancy on the Communication (cell) Tower Conditional Uses in the recently passed Zoning Ordinance #95. The issue involves the Agricultural/Residential Zoning District and whether cell towers should be permitted as a Conditional Use in this Zoning District. There will need to be a new Ordinance passed to either formally allow Communication (cell) Towers as a Conditional Use in the AR District or to revert back to the use chart used in Ordinance #87, which limits Communication (cell) towers to the Retail/Commercial and Industrial Zoning Districts. We are informing the public as an informational courtesy, and this will be a discussion on the March 25th Supervisors meeting agenda. A public hearing will be scheduled at a later date to formally adopt the new Ordinance.
