Beaver County OK Conservation District We assist with the development and implementation of conservation practices that benefit the public as well as conserve natural resources.

The Beaver County Conservation District with technical assistance from the Natural Resources Conservation Service is here to lead, assist and provide for the care and protection of natural resources in Beaver County. Together we deliver leadership through local led meetings, work group meetings, and conservation planning. Jointly we assist land users, communities, and landowners (both rural and urban) to develop and implement voluntary conservation practices that benefit the public as well as preserve our natural resources. We provide needed equipment and supplies to carry out those conservation practices. In 2021 we were unable to hold our annual local led meeting, so our information is based on surveys sent out in partnership with the local NRCS office with the purpose of gleaning information from local producers and landowners/users on the needs of our county. The public is invited to fill out a survey at any time. Since 1999 we have offered our producers the state cost share program for needed practices. Pumping plants, firebreaks, water wells, watering facilities, pipelines, prescribed burns, and brush management practices have been offered. We are extremely proud of the assistance we can offer the land users in Beaver County. We have just closed the application process for Cost Share #23. We had 22 applications. Those applications will be evaluated with the assistance of NRCS and ranked according to need. The District stays abreast of the programs and requirements for the NRCS programs offered through our office. We can direct producers to those programs which most meet their needs. All programs conducted by both NRCS and BCCD are compliant with all requirements of respecting nondiscrimination as contained in the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the regulations of the Secretary of Agriculture (7 C.F.R. Section 15.1-15.13), which provides that no person in the United States shall, on the grounds of race, color or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits or, be subjected to discrimination under any activity receiving Federal financial assistance.

Reposting ~ CALLING ALL PRODUCERS WITH LARGE CAPACITY WATER WELLS! The Conservation District is asking for your permission to make your water sources more accessible to fire officials during wildfire emergencies. We would like to: 1) mark the entrance nearest the water source by either painting a current post with red, white, and blue reflective paint or setting a new post; 2) place a gate sign with contact information; and 3) record the GPS location and contact information of the water source. These water sources will only be used by fire personnel in the event of a wildfire emergency, with no implied entitlements. This does not give anyone free access to your property or the use of your water. Please continue to close and lock the gate. This campaign simply gives information to fire officials about where water is located and who to contact, should the need arise. Your information will save valuable time when every minute counts! We would be honored to install the post, sign, and record the location for you, or you may do it yourself and send the location to the Conservation District for recording. When fires come, they destroy everything without bias or concern. Time is of the essence. The need to seek out water sources takes valuable time. The proud post, with its top painted red to represent the valor and bravery of our firemen and women, white as a salute to your generosity, and blue to remind us to be vigilant and persevere in protecting our homes and property and that of our neighbors. Please contact us today at
